The certification is valid for 1 year, renewable through audits of recertification.

Three main axes are reviewed: 

• Social: working conditions, equity, health and occupational safety. 

• Environmental: water use, agrochemical management, waste and biodiversity. 

• Technical: traceability, efficient use of resources, production records. 

A period of time is granted to implement corrective actions, provided that no mandatory requirement has been breached and that the compliance percentage in the audit is not less than 80%. If these are met on time, the certification remains viable. 

Audits are carried out by authorized certification bodies (CBs) by Flor Ecuador.

• Diagnostic audit (upon application)
  This is the first assessment conducted when a farm applies to join the Flor Ecuador program. It verifies whether it meets the requirements for certification. This audit is free for Expoflores member companies; however, it has a set fee for non-member companies that apply. 

• Annual recertification audit
  It is carried out annually to confirm that the property maintains compliance with the regulations. It is essential for renewing the certificate's validity. 

• Unannounced audits
  They can be carried out at any time without prior notice if risks, complaints, or indications of non-compliance are detected. Their purpose is to verify the integrity of compliance under the conditions. 

• Greater international recognition 

• Preferential access to demanding markets 

• Improvement of internal processes 

• Evidence of commitment to sustainability 

• Use of the Flor Ecuador logo in your communication
